Far Cry 3: Classic Edition consists purely of the single player from the PS3 open world shooter, ditching co-op and the other multiplayer offerings found in the original version. As far as the story mode is concerned, this is beat for beat the exact same experience, only slightly polished up for its PS4 re-run.
Answers. There is a co-op option in the main menu, but its just some missions with waves of enemies that have to kill, not exploring the whole island/story together. Yes. You need 2 consoles/PCs and you both need to own FC5. What you are referring to is called split screen/couch co op, and I don't think any FC games have that. Far Cry 5 has online co op, i.e. you can play together by inviting your friend to your game or vice versa. Well, they fixed it, it isn't necessary anymore, but midgame (maybe, don't know how far in the game it is, still playing as the coop-mate) there is a new row of perks and you don't get access to this if you aren't the host, because it's chained to the story. I really don't know what they thought. Maybe 'Well, let's give them the fourth weapon
Far Cry 3 has 4 player coop , but it's limited to some missions outside the main story, multiplayer only works on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, no freeroam. Far Cry 4 has 2 player coop, but only side quests and freeroam. Far Cry 5 has full on 2 players coop with campaign and all. Notes : If you join someones game you will only get character progress
