George R. R. Martin confirms he’s 3/4 done with ‘Winds of Winter’. With all the craziness in the world, I feel like him finishing this book will trigger the final seal of the apocalypse or something. I mean, I could easily interpret the last 3 years as the first 5 seals.
GRRM has stated that he expects the book to be longer than A Storm of Swords and A Dance with Dragons which had 1521 and 1600 manuscript pages respectively. So it would depend on how much bigger The Winds of Winter is going to be.
PUBLISHED. With the development of new GoT spinoffs on HBO, it seems Martin's already short attention span will be stretched thin. Is anyone else getting the vibe that after waiting 10 years, the Winds of Winter is dead in the water? There are just too many story threads to tie together to start wrapping up the story.

If I were to recommend someone books to read to scratch the itch left by no ASOIAF this is where I'd start: The Kingkiller Chronicle - Patrick Rothfuss. The Malazan Book of the Fallen - Steven Erikson. The Night Angel Trilogy - Brent Weeks. Mistborn - Brandon Sanderson.

After the credits roll, the view returns to George RR Martin sitting atop the iron throne. He turns to the camera and says, "hey viewers! Read more in The Winds of Winter, available December 1!"
Terrible argument. Is George R.R. Martin saving lives or has studied for 10+ years to earn a degree in his profession? no But is he efficient? no also. Perfect reason for his assistants to take over the physical writing. George telling his subs what to write is not the same as a surgeon telling his sub which vein to cut through. March 9 2022 - "Random Updates and Bits o' News": George talks about how he's working on a lot of projects and how they all matter to him. Says he is still working on Winds. Made a "lot" of progress in 2020 and "less" in 2021, but "less is not none". Westeros has also become bigger than Winds at this point.
